“Physical comedy as well as a good caper - and a love story on top of that - who could ask for anything more?”

Guide To Petty Vengeance

The Little Book of Revenge (Guide de la Petite Vengeance)

Directed by Jean-Francois Pouliot

Cast: Marc Beland, Michel Muller, Gabriel Gascon, Pascale Bussieres

(104 min) Canada(Quebec)

This French-Language film, by the director of the 2003 independent hit Seducing Dr. Lewis, is part caper, part dark comedy and part romance. The revenge in question deals with a jewelry store that is owned by a tyrant whose accountant and son conspire to rob the store. This film reminds one of the thrillers of the past such as How to Steal a Million and Topkapi. This film is extremely well written and directed with a great deal of élan.
