rom Morocco comes this beautifully shot journey into the past by Amin, a young architect who left behind the city of his boyhood but not the emotional scars inflected by his now-dying uncle. The narrative deftly weaves past and present and individual and community to reveal surprising connections. Shot mainly in stunning black and white, Burned Hearts revels in the ancient city with its winding alleys and markets, a setting that lends incredible texture and depth to those who now call it home.

Recommended for viewers over 13.
