"...as the lives of the characters cross and entwine, there is a sense of human connections becoming stronger and thicker, of a fragile moral order coalescing beneath the randomness and cruelty of modern life.Ó

ejat initially disapproves of his widower father AliÕs choice of prostitute Yeter for a live-in girlfriend. But the young professor warms to her when he learns that most of her hard-earned money is sent home to Turkey for her daughterÕs university studies. After YeterÕs accidental death, Nejat travels to Istanbul to search for YeterÕs daughter Ayten. Political activist Ayten has fled the Turkish police and is already in Germany. She is befriended by a young woman, Lotte, who invites rebellious Ayten to stay in her home, much to the displeasure of her conservative mother, Susanne. When Ayten is arrested and her asylum plea denied, she is deported and imprisoned in Turkey. Passionate Lotte abandons everything to help Ayten. A tragic event brings Susanne to Istanbul to help fulfill her daughterÕs mission (Strand Releasing). Watch the trailer for Edge of Heaven.

he Perfect Match is a five minute opera produced by Tapestry New Opera Works. It is the story of two singular socks (played by sock puppets) who, in finding each other, complete themselves. It is a comedy, it is an opera, it is a puppet film, but ultimately it is a story about companionship. These lonely socks crave the same thing that we all want Š our other half, our soul mate. (DirectorÕs Statement).
