SpIFF prefers submissions through

withoutabox logo

We recommend that submissions come through Withoutabox. Withoutabox is the patented system that allows filmmakers and screenwriters to submit their work to festivals and competitions worldwide, quickly, easily, and economically.

Withoutabox grants the power to simply and economically manage the entire process - from production to festivals to distribution to connecting with fans - and the inalienable right to enjoy all artistic and financial rewards to which one is entitled.

SpIFF also accepts submissions directly from filmmakers:

Submission Format:
You may submit a preview copy of your feature, mid-length, or short film on DVD (NTSC Region 0 or 1) and a completed SpIFF submission form through ordinary postal channels. In an effort to go greener, we also accept esubmissions of mid-length and short films in an iTunes-friendly format via You Send It to submissions@spokanefilmfestival.org. With your yousendit email, be sure to attach a completed SpIFF submission form. Electronic entries are for SpIFF consideration only and will not be distributed or exhibited for any other purposes without prior filmmaker consent.
Payment of Entry Fees:
SpIFF prefers payment of entry fees through PayPal to spiff@spokanefilmfestival.org. However, we also accept payment as described on the submission form through ordinary postal channels. Please note that we do not recommend emailing a submission form that contains payment information.
Presentation Format:
SpIFF will exhibit accepted works in 35mm, DVD (Region 0 or 1), NTSC DigiBeta, NTSC BetaSP or a then-current digital format. Films must be submitted in the format indicated in the entry form.
Notification:
SpIFF will notify all submissions by January 2, 2010 of their final status. Notification will be by e-mail.
Loss and Damage:
Every precaution will be taken to safeguard all materials submitted to SpIFF. However, we cannot accept or assume responsibility in the event of loss or damage.
Posted Entries should include:
  • Entry fee appropriate for submission category.
  • Self-addressed stamped postcard if you wish us to notify you that your entry has been received.
